Chimera Investment Corporation has signed a definitive agreement to acquire HomeXpress Mortgage Corp. from affiliates of Seer Capital Management and certain management sellers.
The deal will be executed through Chimera’s taxable REIT subsidiary, Chimera Funding TRS, using a combination of cash and over two million shares of Chimera common stock.
This strategic move is set to broaden Chimera’s residential credit platform. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025. Earnings growth is anticipated by 2026 as a result of this acquisition.
